TIPS ABOUT LIBRARY USE

The Bloomfield Public Library welcomes all tweens and teens to the library.  We enjoy providing you with a welcoming, safe place where you can access great books, media, and spend time studying or hanging out.

There's...

  • A great collection of young adult fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, manga, movies, CDs, ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines.

  • Free downloadable music, TV and Movies, eComics, eBooks, eAudiobooks or Digital Magazines that you can dowload right to your smartphone or portable device!

  • Homework help resources.

We provide these services for you because we want you to be life-long users of libraries.  But when you're here, we also want you to make the right choices when using the library.

Think about these guidelines when at the library:

This is a public building and people are using the facility for various reasons.  Be respectful and courteous of everyone and what they are doing here when you are visiting.

Do not leave your belongings in the library and then leave the building.  We cannot ensure the security of your things, it is messy, and it inhibits others' use of the library.

Help keep the library clean by picking up your belongings and cleaning up after yourself.

We know you're hungry afterschool, but please keep snacks and drinks outside.

We want you to be here with your friends, but it is important for you to engage in "library-appropriate" behavior such as doing homework, reading, studying, using a laptop or iPad, or listening to music.  If you are here and doing things that are disruptive to library users and/or library staff, you may be asked to leave.

Most of all, this is your library!  Treat it with respect, participate in programs and events, borrow stuff, and enjoy your time here.
